My husband paid for it over the phone last week and he said it was about $47 which included the courier.

yeah i actually drove all the way from strathfield to hornsby (and got lost)...when i got there the guy told me he could have couriered it to me, FML.

It's good stuff, can be frustrating if you screw it up because it's hard to patch up...would need to start again...

I've done my Greddy gearknob and my front bar...also did one coat on my C-Lip because there were a few scratches on it.

I plan to plasti-dip my rims in the uni semester holiday

@Bruno Sorry, I just saw your post! Looks like you posted while I was replying to James......... I think it was around $35 for the plasti dip then $8 for the courier plus GST on top. We are plasti dipping the front bumper! :mrgreen:

@ Eric Glad to hear it's good stuff! Yeah, I'm worried about screwing it up. Gonna let my husband do it then I can blame him if it goes wrong!!!! As for the courier, it was so worth the $8 - especially since we live up the mountains.

you could of got it from silverwater which is much closer than hornsby

thats where i got my can from

If the surface you want to paint is flat with not much corners or curves etc like the standard lancers front nose then vinyl is best. Plasti dip is best for surfaces with curves etc like the ralliart chrome nose ring.

That's what i thought when i wanted to paint my ralliart chrome nose in black. I was originally going to vinyl it but thought that it would be too hard to do the edges/corners smoothly without leaving a crease, bubble or something :S

hahaha damn! from what shop? because i got mitchell's from the plastidip website of distributors....the other shop was in homebush/flemington but they didn't have stock

I'm a fan of plasti-dip myself, but you guys do realise that in the US they buy this stuff for less than US$10 a can?!

Stupid import tax and whatever other crap they chuck on there put's it up to $30+ for us.

Yes, it's more expensive here but what choice do we have? It's cheaper than flying over there to buy it!!!

im looking at getting some to do the front of my car, and maybe painting the strutbrace with this stuff to, but in Red.

i did notice that they had glow in the dark paints, i wounder what heat that paint can handle :twisted:

vinyl? different types of paints?

the primary advantage that plasti-dip has over these is: over vinyl, is ease of application; over other paints, that you can just peel it off if you mess it up.

but I don't think the cost out weighs these advantages.

anyway, I'm speaking from a budget perspective, and stock just seems to get less and less. I just think that you could save a couple of $$$ with other methods and a bit of extra work.

Using the Plastidip requires all the careful masking on edges and covering whole front of car car to prevent overspray as using spray paint.
Mine still looks like it I did it yesterday after 1 yr, been very durable.
