Most after market gear knobs are a universal fit & are attached / held on by grub screws.
All the genuine gear knobs are expensive... I remember looking at an STI branded one for my Liberty & it was around the $270.00 mark! In the end I went for a Momo leather one which landed up costing me under $100.00

Universal ones are usually from no name brands which use tappers to install which is not good because they can spin around... ones from know aftermarket brands like HKS, TRD, Greddy/Trust have the same threading as the stock gearknob for the specific make of car so they screw on = more secure also why it's more expensive
