Exam tomorrow :( So not prepared...

Just ordered a PS3 headset off EBay. Not paying 80 bucks for a genuine one! :P 23 bucks is what I am paying for a non-genuine one, but should still do the job. Hope it's good...

Got the flash tune...
POWARGH!!!

The pull is constant rather than kicking in around 3-3.5 like it used to, the revs go up to slightly past 7 grand....

And... Was reading 5L/100km on the freeway home and 7L/100km on non-freeway, better than I've ever seen it.

And I can go from 0-110 all in second now. :P

Feels a bit rough around 7000 but that's not the tune, its the engine.

The more consistent power makes it feel easier to control too. And its got a real howl now due to the increased air flow (with the top panel thing off).

Helps every day driving too, with more power in low revs including in fifth.

Quite pleased.

hey Jake,
Great to see you like the results.
It certainly is far better than the stock tune.

Probably best to respect the 6500rpm?? redline most of the time though.
Engine makers have them where they are for a reason, to limit centrifugal and torsional loads and other major stresses on crankshaft and resulting loads on bearings, con rods, pistons etc.

Yeah I won't be taking it that far often at all :P
Just had to try it, thats all.

If I put the top panel back on the snorkel it'll probably have more power but its not like I drag people... Haha.

He tried setting a launch control function on mine but it wasn't doing anything.
The theory being it limits the revs when you're not moving and the clutch is in, so you can have your foot to the floor when you take off the line.

Think I prefer it al naturale though. Traction control would screw it up anyway.

They're only fwd family cars after all.

If you get a high flow, after market muffler that will certainly help as we talked about on the cruise.
Obviously a complete exhaust would give most gains along with a retune on dyno.

Nope. Just the intake slats cut out and the snorkel panel off. Might put it back on now to see what I like more.

Waaay too wet to stand out there with the bonnet up though :P

Yeah I'm starting to understand my options now... Not sure if I'll be hunting for more power though. Need those front air dams!
If I get an exhaust I'd love to do the whole ralliart bumper + dual pipe setup.

Job hunting for now anyway.

Job hunting, You and me both Jake.

Pm me if you want any info on exhausts etc, I did a ton of research on it all 18mo or more ago before modding my car.

Yes it definitely works, I had it done today. Many people have had it done.

It increases overall power a tiny bit, and quite noticeably at low revs.
If you drive calmly it will use less fuel as well.
It also increases the rev limiter (from 6500rpm to about 7000. Only in manual cars though).

And all he has to do is plug his laptop into a socket near your pedals, don't even have to open the bonnet!

He also keeps a permanent copy of your original settings, so it can be reset if needed.

Takes 10 minutes max. $70.
