no probz. Better place to put them, rather than chop up before after shops in the Garage.

okies, looking at changing all my bulbs to LEDs now. With the map light, is there a certain directional type of LED that I can get as it seems to distract me when I am driving at night and someone switches on the map light to look for something. Basically, if the left hand side map light is switched on, I would like it to light up the left passengers seat and not have too much light come onto the drivers side.

You can actually pry the whole assembly out. Just stick a thin butter knife between the plastic and your roof liner. The whole map light assembly can be pryed out since it's only held by some stiff metal clips.

or use a flat head screw driver (smallest one you have) and remove the clear cover - I took off the whole assembly out and it was a pain in the neck putting the LEDS in :( and then I removed the clear cover

I wonder if an SMD light would help the sportback's boot... seeing how the light is not in the centre on one side..

errrr, look at this picture, should be self explanatory. Do it for each corner where the clear cover is attached but be careful not to break it ;-)
It is much easier :)

I assume a 16 LED SMD for the rear boot will fit? (sportback models)

actually you can get a adaptor which can fix the problem ,for the current which is the rated current ,so if you want to replace it with led lights ,an adaptor would help you a lot ,you can take led SMD 3528 which is 0.08W for each led lights ,means you can take the length as you want and the led stripis also can cuttable .
a site may be much better help you

hope this works ,
