[c]How To: LED Angel Eyes for CJ Lancer[/c]
Time required: 6 hours in total plus leaving the Angel Eyes to dry overnight.
Tools required:
- Phillips Head screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver
- Size 10 socket wrench
- Drill with a small drillbit
- Additional wire
- Heat shrink tube & a lighter
- Large Oven/Heat Gun/Hair Dryer
- A strong adhesive, sikaflex recommended.
- Patience, lots of it.
Risk Factor: 7/10
Difficulty Rating: 8.5/10
Basic rundown: You will be removing your front bumper and both headlights and taking them apart which can potentially permenantly damage your headlight. You will also be playing with some wires to connect the angel eyes to a current.
[c]Step 1 - Removing the bumper.[/c]
Pop your hood and undo the 5+2 screws holding the piece of plastic above your radiator on and remove it.
Undo 5 more screws that you see beneath where the plastic was.
Under the front of your car you will see a piece of plastic connecting to the bumper, undo 5 more screws here.
On each side of the same piece of plastic you will see some more of those black "pop-out" plugs, remove 4+3 of these from the sides.
Undo the pop-out screws from the front wheel arches (just the ones connecting the front bumper)
There will also be one screw here that is hidden, it will be towards the top of the wheel arch, remove this from each side.
You may also need to remove the screws that hold your license plate on.
You will now be able to take the bumper off.
For each side you will need to gently tug (some force required) the sides and they will pop out.
Gently tug the bumper off from the front of the car as there are two more clips under the headlights that need to be popped out.
If you have fog lights now is the best time to disconnect the wire, you should see it quite clearly with the bumper half-off.
Your front bumper should now be removed!
