I have hit those plastic rectangle things twice already.
Are they higher/lower/similar to the air dams? Would very much like to know.
While I'm asking, what are they even for?

I need to get onto box curbs sometimes to park and if the air dams are GOING to scrape then its not really an option, I'll forget about them until I don't have to park their anymore.

My first car was a lowered + evo VI kit lancer and hitting that beautiful front bumper on curbs was the worst feeling, and I'd hate it more in my new lancer.
They might be 'cheap' buts its not really cheap to me right now, so I'll spend on something that'll be safe. 8)

Those black rectangles are lower than the airdamn.
The airdams aren't really much lower than the stock bumper (only about 15mm or so)

Mine's black already though. :(
Has anyone with a black lancer ever done the front blackout before? It could still look ok I suppose... Maybe with the ralliart-esque chrome border around it so it isn't lost.

And if they're only that tiny bit lower, that does make them more like 'bumper protectors' than 'another thing to break', so I can see where people are coming from. I'll have a look on our WA cruise coming up, as my lancer feels naked without them :P

I like. Air dams and then blackout + chrome trim is in the future for me perhaps.
Thanks. :D

My internet is capped right now, these pics are killing me!
But that looks alright, its noticeable. I still think a chrome border would add to it.

Did you switch to chrome because you didn't like it black or because you just felt it was an even better idea?

I liked the black, but it wasn't very noticeable, it was only noticeable when the car was clean. The chrome was always an option because chrome always suits and stands out on a black car. Once i saw Aspired do the chrome vinyl on his aspire, it inspired me to give it a go, and find all the chrome accessories. One difference was that i still wanted the black grill mesh behind the frames. (Aspired has the chrome grill mesh that the aspire has)

Overall the chrome grill looks better in my opinion, because the photos don't really do it justice. Blackout is a great mod even on the black and its a good starting mod. With vinyl there's no harm in doing it. You don't like it, you can rip it off.

Not a huge fan of chrome. Your car does look good but I think I'd like to try the ralliart look.

With the chrome border hopefully it'll be noticeable even when dirty (its only not dirty when i'm cleaning it :()

Lol, Love the LED's deano !!.
Dire-VR09" if you have a black car, why do you want to black it out ??, makes no sense, If I update my photos i'll show you my black vr with front airdams, they only go as low as the lowest part of the front bumper (exept thickness of material+3mm)easy to install and nobody sees scratches on the bottom bit.

Hmmmmm. Idk. I still like the chrome to frame more than just the grills.
Coming on the cruise yeah? I won't be doing anything for a while so I'll have a look then.
