The other option is a steering column pod mount.

If gauges in the A pillar were a big enough issue with regard to defectability then custom A pillar speaker mounts would be as well.... surely?

what kind of speakers are you gonna put in your A pillar? its only really big enough to fit a tweet, and you can just recess it in the pillar so it would be no issue at all.

there is no need to have a midbass in your pillar so close to your head, unless they are directional speakers. but, you would be better off just buying better larger midbass to stick in your door.

I'm not doing it... mine are going in the factory locations. Ninja install ;)

I have, however, seen SQ competition installs with a 3-way set of splits where the tweet and a small (2" or 3") mid are mounted in the A-pillar and a 6" mid-bass is mounted in the door.

Part of the judging criteria in SQ is positioning of the front Stage on an X, Y & Z axis. Optimum stage position comes down to speaker placement.

Completely off topic so that's probably enough...

I have to get motivated to fit this.. show you all.. I ordered both in bulk, going to try to make these available to people.. will first seek permission.

Will try to find time to make a 'Check-it-out' video shortly...

I do like the look of it a lot, I'll admit. Not sure if I'd get it or not, though.

Graham, let you in on a hint... the factory that produces one, may also be the very same that made mine....
