What Gear Knob did you guys get?

Postby bungfritz » Sun Feb 28, 2010 9:47 pm

Hey this might sound like a stupid question, but i was just wondering whether the dealer swapped out my gearknob before i took delivery of the car?

I've never really noticed it until recently, but it seems all VR-VRX lancers have this nice round leather wrapped gearknob as standard. When i took delivery of my car, it had the ugly and tall rubber knob which i hate with a passion.

Could it be that the gear knob wasn't standard until after a model revision or do you guys reckon it was swapped over with another car. BTW i have a MY08 model VRX.

gay!!!!! man thats the biggest thing i hate about my interior, that gearknob. I'm too lazy to get something to replace it as well.

Guess i'll just have to live with it and complain once in a while.

Ahhhh the MY10 VRX gear knob is slightly different to the other ones.

My08 VRX like mine is a faux-leather one, definitely different yo ES ones though.

Looks like this:

Hrmm yeah i definitely didn't get one of those gearknobs.

Guess its too late to hassle the dealer about it though. Sigh.

What's the worst that happens. They say no.

Go back to the dealer and explain that you just realised that it was wrong when you saw another VRX. It is not the sort of thing you would realise is wrong till you notice it in a different car...

I agree, never hurts to ask.

Wonder where yours came from?

A picture would be David.

That's so nasty of them to give you the car with that knob.

I'd be there first thing in the morning banging on their door! There will be a spat as they'll say it was delivered with the proper one and you've taken it off since... Check the mechanic's cars for your leather knob!

This is not manners at all!

Tell them you want the alloy evo one as compensation!!!

If the CE is at home, I will take a pic of it when I get home from work.

Actually, now you mention it Shane, it looks like the CE one alright. My Mirage one was just like that. Spewing

Yep, it is not from the ES. I would be asking questions. I think its leather bound gear knob, steering wheel and boot on the VRX isnt it???
