[It can be connected to any of the Lancers, but you require the RF Amp for it to function.]

does it have to be the RF amp , or would any amp do.

I'm not an expert in this field but I don't see why you need an RF specific amp to run it. Any amplifier should be able to power it but you'll need to splice the wires from the OEM connector plug.

ps. The real benefit of this sub is that it comes in a case which is designed to fit perfectly into the boot of a CJ Lancer without modifying (beyond screwing in the bolts). It'll take up a lot less space than a conventional subwoofer box.

Stock headunit does not have RCA outputs, so you will need a line converter to get the sound to a non-RF amp. but apart from that it will work

That's true but it's no different to any other aftermarket sub install.

Good news mate- whilst trying to fit it into a box today I realised something... the bits which stick out of the subwoofer box (i.e. the mounting plates) can be detached!!!!!! ... suddenly shipping it is a lot easier. Will work on price asap.

Hey mate I have been looking around but the problem I have is when I fit the sub into a box of any kind, it kinda, falls through because it's heavier than what the box can sustain. Sorry for stupid logistical issues here but last thing I want is for the thing to break en route. Do you know if the Australia Post boxes are strong enough to handle something like this?

Strips of cardboard and wrap it in pallet wrap ( stronger version of glad wrap :D ) should be more than enough.

At least the woofer has a grill to protect it!
Love that car!

Sorry guys I've decided not to sell interstate. I apologise for all the hassle caused but there's too much risk shipping this because I don't want to have to deal with issues in case something goes wrong.

How unfortunate.

coolwave911: a member in Hobart ,TAS

has just asked me about buying one of these.

BTW, brand new is about A$600.00

You could use a courier and it'd still be cheap @ A$180.00

Damage would be bourn by the courier. Transdirect warranties to A$12,000 worth of damage.

To be honest Irving I'm more worried what if for whatever reason something goes wrong on the other end or they aren't happy with it, and then we have to sort out shipping back and forth, refunds, etc...

To anyone else reading this- please don't misinterpret this as there being something wrong with the subwoofer, but I'd rather deal with someone local who can pick it up, install it, be happy with it, etc... and then let me know.

I know I've got it going for a good (and fair) price and I'm not in need of cash so whoever is willing to take the trek up to pick it up is more than welcome to.

Cheers

Caveat emptor.

If packed properly, it should reach the destination perfect.

If I was in NSW, I'd buy this from you and on sell it for more! Nice money making for me.

It's worth at least A$300.

i've sent heaps of stuff overseas + interstate and all of them came out perfect. Just a nice solid box + some bubble wrap.

I usually make myself a *FRAGILE , HANDLE WITH CARE* label on the parcel to make sure the courier takes good care of it.

I'm sure you won't have any problem with the subwoofer and box :)

How hard would it be for me to wire this to the stock SX system? I would need to run power from the battery and wires from the head unit + buy an amp wouldn't I? hmm....

Naheen- I think for most people who are serious about this, it's a way of getting a box which is designed to fit perfectly in the boot of the CJ Lancer. As in, instead of forking out $500+ for a custom fab box (nb. mine cost considerably more than that =__=" ) they can get a box like this and fit their own sub and wiring into it.

That makes sense... when i used to send people to the JB installers they used to charge a fortune for the simplest of things.
