Might be a change of plans, took a bunch of turbos out for a drive on the weekend and had my mind blown by the most unexpected of the lot.

The RA is possibly one of the smoothest rides that I've test-driven, paddle shift in sports mode is seamless! The MPS looks great inside and out but really just is not the greatest car to drive. The last thing i took for a spin was the Ford XR6T... and oooooh DAMN. Raw and ridiculous! Move over 300C i think Ford have finally made a car I like :D:D

Someone hurry up and buy my car so I can get one!

The new FG or a second hand BF?? Have been in both. The new model definitely has it over the olds.

If you like big cars, take a HSV for a spin. The clubby's aren't that bad and doesn't feel like a big car.

Its the new shape, I'm not 100% sure what the model name is though. Are the HSV's turbo though?

Two words mate - WALKINSHAW SUPERCHARGER

Hear the engine whine as you drive it along. Sounds awesome - Top gear UK had a review on it. Check it out on you-tube

The supercharger is an add on to a regular HSV. Costs around 15 grand but its just a bolt on. You can get a 2006 model ve clubby for around 37k so you can have plenty of money to mod it. I don't mind the E2 new model, but its just a face lift to an already out-dated car.

Check out the new FPV's for sale as well. Its Ford, but to the max!!

Yeah I took a look at the F6 when I was at the dealer but for $20k+ it seemed a bit much for a small gain in power, I'd be better off getting a good ECU tune and exhaust for the extra grunt

Thats the whole point of FPV/HSV. Its all about bogan street cred. Sure you can have a hotted up SS or XR8, but people still say 'its just an SS'

If you take out the whole race track thing and just think about street driving/cruising - why would anyone spend $70k for an evo over a $40k Ralliart with a $5k upgrade to same/more power. Street cred of owning an evo. Nothing more, and its the same with HSV's and FPV's. (Wouldn't get a FPV, but would get an E2 clubby.

Also, go to our nemesis Subaru and check out the new Liberty. They have softened the look, but the old model was quite a nice ride, and you can get them STI tuned with plenty of power.

Drive everything you can get your hands on. Try a H3 hummer as well, just to say you drove one!!

haha yeah I get what you mean. I don't think i'd need the HSV/FPV then, even in one of those my bogan cred would be zero haha I'd have the only JDM styled ford :P I haven't checked out Subaru yet, I've still got plenty of dealers to go see. Test driving is awesome fun, well worth taking a weekend to go see how many cars you can drive, even if you have no intention of buying! :D

RA and Evo are totally different beasts...

Yes you can get as much power out of an RA, but it will never be anything like an Evo.
