ok just tried it tonight but made no different, the option are inside and outside, since it's in the boot i think it make more sense to leave as "outside", but really I couldn't tell from the sound quality.

Okay, reverse auto wiring...
i think i have a better understanding of whats going on now
looking through the wiring diagram (from what i can see in the limited online version of the workshop manual (downloadable version keeps fking up and cant download the full thing... feel free to re-upload it anyone!?)
anyway, ive backtracked the reverse wire and it apears to go from the 'back up lamp' through the boot lining, to the boot (to where i split it for my reversing camera) back through the cabin, under the floor to the dash control unit, then up the centre console to the shifter, where there is a micro switch under the back of shifter (infront of the little pocket that has the 2 'unused' cables (used for the RA) underneath it.
so i think i might try and track down this wire and dry wire (disconnect and not solder but hook up) it to the mysterious 'back' blue cable... will see how we go... wont get a chance till this arvo though.
havnt got time to play with the headunit wince software too much today (maybe a bit tonight once the mrs goes to bed) but from what i can see, hold down finger in blank area, select create icon, then select the .exe file of the program you want to add?

not sure as of yet, i can only make out that thats where the wire is, i cant read the writing as the images are too small on the online version of the workshop manual, this is why i need to download one, but i cant get more than 20MB when i attempt to download it.... so if anyone can re-upload it thatd be swell!
