*jaw* = my face when I got quoted $220 to install (for want of a better word) the side accent trim and the rear spoiler accent trim, and I'm supplying the vinyl!

Please tell me this isn't normal. It seems too expensive to me but I may be wrong...

Side being skirts? either way that is ridiculous, a vinyl job takes minutes and for that kind of money you should buy yourself another mod and cut the vinyl yourself :)

I obtained a copy of the price list for lancer accessories when i purchased the car about 3 months ago.
Sports Accent trim for the side skirts is $110 fitted
Sports Accent Trim for the Rear Spoiler (VRX only) is $82 fitted

This was from Alto Mitsubishi at Pennant Hills.

They are taking you for a complete ride mate... and your girlfriend.... and the dog, maybe the milkman too!

It seriously takes ten minutes to do it! Clean the areas, cut and apply the vinyl :O

I think the thing alot of us here forget is that when you take it to a Mitsu dealership to get something installed, they have to warranty the job. Say the screw up the vinyl, are you going to be buying a new one for them to try? If the vinyl begins to peel 3 mths later, you can take it back and get a new one.

It's easy to balk at the prices they put up but there are alot of other costs involved.

We're spoilt in a way on this forum because we already start at a pretty low baseline for prices which our group buys supply and because of PMR's availability of low cost OEM pricing but it's actually a big bad world out there... .

MZ314053 Sport Acct Trim RR Spoiler = A$42
MZ314055 Sport Accent Trim Side A/Dam = A$63

So the price in Pennent Hills is pretty reasonable.

I'm at work so this is just a quick update to clear things up.

I got this quote from Sign-a-rama, not mitsu, and I am supplying pre cut vinyl (one OEM from ofey and one from Signcreations) so I can't imagine how they can justify the 2.5hrs @ $80 for the job...

Just to confirm, the accent trim is the CF sticker right?

Im unsure what the labour rates are,if your not happy with the price, then maybe ring elsewhere and get a few more quotes. I am probably one of the very people here that has a OEM front blackout. I think BR14AN is the only other person to have a Mitsu front blackout.
I got mine thrown in when i purchased the car even though it wasnt installed until a month or so later. I was tempted to go to a signwrtier myself to get it re-done the proper way,,however im used to it now and makes my car unique in its own way. :)

Lol DONT i repeat DONT GO TO SIGNARAMA.... biggest con artists out there.... i provided vinyl for my front black out and mitsu badges.... the clown tried to charge me 220 bucks i told him to stuff it and got it down to 150 which was also a rip off and their workmanship is crap.... they scratched my bumper pretty deep cuz the genius used a penknife to cut the vinyl alrdy applied to my bumper.... Mind u this was when i was a noob and hadnt joined ccj or known prices of this kinda stuff.... *facepalm*

Ok finally home, long day!

Yeh there is no way I am paying $220 for them to put on vinyl that I supply, pre-cut. I'd rather try myself, stuff it up then buy the vinyl again and it would still be cheaper! So stupid. The email that they sent with the quote said "I await your positive reply" FAT CHANCE!!!

Tbh I have no aptitude for things like this. Well thats not entirely true. I'd happily give it a go, but not when it is something like this that will be very noticable if done wrong. If it wasn't my car maybe :P

Maybe we all should of bought Black lancers LOL,problem solved, though i would be bothered by other things like scratches and swirl marks.

You could have a go urself,if it dosent work out then shop around to get someone else to do it,or there maybe even another CCJ Member in your area that may know how to fit it properly.
