Hey guys,
So i have been swayed to look for a Lancer Ralliart. I found one which brought my attention since it has only done 40,000 ks and is at a decent price.
I'm just wondering, are those LED lights a custom job or did they come with the Ralliart at all? I also notice that it has another ralliart badge on its grill. Is that a custom job as well?

Those badges and LEDs are custom. The car looks fairly decent, but I'm concerned that the SST could be on its way to failure as many early model RAs are prone to gearbox failure. Mitsubishi did a number of replacements for affected units, so long as there aren't mods that have to do with the transmission, particularly the S-Sport flashing.
Ask the owner if it has been replaced at all. Also take note that the 10-year powertrain warranty only applies to the first owner and will not continue after the car's been sold. You only get the 5-year warranty if the seller has not gotten it void, and that is also about to end considering that it's already 2013.

Grab it if the gearbox was replaced before, otherwise you could be in for a $10K+ repair!

Ask if its been replaced etc, The SST is known to be a problem in the early models. I'm not really sure what you should be looking out for problem wise but keep in mind that the gearbox is loud and jerky until it warms up.

With the amount of (no offence) crap stuck to it, painter calipers. Id be very suspicious as to why its for sale.
Some one has put time and money and effort into it, its got low k's.
I'll put money the gearbox is on its last legs and its been thrashed.
I would not believe a thing thats said in the ad ,
Question to ask. 1) Are they a MITSUBISHI dealership
2)If not then why do they have the RA. It must be a trade in

Is it from a mits dealership? I notice whoever they are that they advertise a 3yr warranty. I would ensure the SST is completely covered under this. As much as there have been issues with the SST for early model RA's we need to keep in perspective the fact that this is a tiny % of cars sold. For vic that's not a bad price - def not too cheap though (my my11 with 16000km's was $31,500)

Well from the pictures it looks like its sitting at a Hyundai dealer. The calipers have been painted and other little aftermarket pieces have been added so I would be worried what else has been done. The SST might of been failing so the owner might of been rejected warranty for the SST then sold it to this mob and selling it for CHEAP (if it had engine mods etc.. im going on a long shot
). I mean from when I was buying my ralliart majority of them had around 40,000 kms and they were $33-36,000

I don't think any of us are trying to deter you from buying a ralliart but just this car in particular seems to good to be true.

nah there is a 2010 model as well which did 80,000 and has a full service history at preston motors that is asking for 28,000. might be worth checking instead.
