OP, where are you looking for them? I'd recommend taking it to a local SST specialist to have it checked over. Also check this one out https://www.wtftuned.com/pages/sst-dos-and-donts
Also, this might seem like a stupid question but I'm honestly not sure how this works as I've never done it, but if the car is located like an hour or more away from an SST specialist then how do you go about it getting checked over, do owners usaully go along to the place with you or like how would that go down.

I bought a MY08 Ralliart from a dealer about 6 months ago and everything has been sweet.
Transmission feels nice and tight; i Bought a 3 year warranty from the dealer which also covers the transmission so I have peace of mind.
I insisted that the dealer changed the SST fluid for me for free when i bought the car... as it was due at 90k kms.
I also called mitsubishi and asked if that transmission was ever replaced under warranty and apparently it hasnt.
If in any case you decide not to take a warranty, there are many places now that can pull apart, repair and replace the transmission for about 4k. And apparently after that, it becomes bullet proof.
Its a great car... Buy it. I honestly prefer the Ralliart over the Evo. Its a bit kinder to drive in the city with Great Turning Circle and softer dampers.

Better off buying an Evo imo.
Or a WRX. The gearbox in a ralliart is a ticking time bomb, thankfully with mine, it was in pristine condition. However, when buying a second hand RA, you are left with the unknowns of what could go wrong and when.
At least with a manual evo, you know the gearbox will last.

I think the biggest issue with the Ralliart is everyone will say, "nice looking EVO mate". Seriously I've had some thinking my VRX is an EVO.
Oh and the 2nd issue is if you're ever thinking of getting a tow bar for a small trailer then you can't with the RA, the SST is not suitable and they just don't make a tow bar kit for the RA.
Would so love an manual EVO, maybe not as a daily but a weekend drive.

The SST is fitted to the outlander diesel of similar era. They put a ECU controled fan on the stand alone cooler and also routed the SST oil through a compartment in the radiator to provide additional cooling. Wish they have done that to the Evo / RA.

I dont think coolers are necessary for everyday driving or occassional high speed bash. They were placed in teh diesel outlanders/peugeot 4008 because these cars are may be subject to low speed driving on gravel/offroading that can be hard clutch packs.

I owned a ralliart from new. It did 75000km over 10 years before being written off in an accident. The SST was fine on original fluids, the engine was all good, serviced regularly and driven short distances/ commute (as indicated by low km after 10+ years)
Only got 10k from insurance. My fault for not insuring for more. Wreck got 5k at auction.
So there are plenty of ralliarts being parted out. If you are handy with tools, just buy one and either another for parts or buy parts from a wrecker. I believe you can have the car and enjoy it for less.
