In terms of transferring the title, I think that here in Qld there is a provision for changing ownership to an immediate family member without paying stamp duty - you could look into that in WA. If the car came with the 10yr warranty, you'll want to make sure you didn't lose that though too.
More to the point... $26,000 for Demo ES!?! Sorry to say they got reamed. Assuming its CVT, thats a $22-23,000 car even with the extras.
I agree with aspir3, you'd be mad to pay more than $18,000 second hand.

Id be more worried about transferring the title and losing your drivetrain warranty and cutprice servicing warranty. Double check that first before you make that decision.
