Don't know about new cars, but before 2003 when the government started raising the prices of imported cars from Japan, the colour white was always a few thousand dollars cheaper to import - Skylines, Supras, soarers were all cheaper. Mind you, some of the 90's sports cars look pretty ordinary in white - completely different to the newest models of performance cars.

dude thats because pre-2003 was prior to the iPod mania.
Only then did white become fashionable.

I'm currently leaning towards not getting the hail-damaged one. I've decided 10K is not enough a discount as opposed to all cons behind such a vehicle. A demo is definitely a better choice, a few grand more but no need to fix the body.
I might as well wait for EOFY and see what they could offer.

New RA cost
I paid $37600 on the road for my 2010 Ralliart 5 weeks ago at Frankston Mitsubishi. It was sold as a demo with 10 kilometre delivery miles on it.
the only people who drove it were the factory, the delivery driver and my test drive.
They are worth checking out as the sales person told me they sell them quite regularly that way.
I was about to pay $41,000 on the road was on my way to test drive and forgot the dealer address so looked it back up on carsales. Found the FM one drove straight there bought it straight after test drive.

classed as a write off after just hail? That is ludicrous. Normally to class it as a write off, the car should have sustained enough damage to warrant at least 50% of its value in repair costs.

I wouldn't buy a ralliart... extra performance vs useless economy isn't worth it.
If you take 2.4lt with intake and full zorst with ECU tune should put out 150-160kw @ engine v's 177 from (stock) RA.
Factor in the AWD power train and your about the same speed.
Food for thought.
But the AWD system is nice though..... and having turbo..... and you have a better platform to make it go faster.
