After seeing this video I have to give full props to the driver for his skill as most people would have lost it.

I for one would hope I never have to drive through an oil slick like that.

Yeppers that was a damn good reaction. Straight off the pedals and counter-steer to the max.

Only way to travel
No brakes and steer through it
He handled that well!
Would have been a horrible feeling though :o

lol im not gonna praise him

1stly:
he looks like hes doing at least 15-40km/h faster than the other vehicles and overtakes the 1st car at speed that is partially in his lane. it moves out of the way just as he pulls pass. this speed is partly tied into the point below.

2ndly:
at around 40seconds you see an electronic warning displaying caution icons and something along the lines of "oil spill". choosing to ignore that and continuing at pace overtaking every vehicle he sees is bound to cause something like that. the whole situation could have easily been avoided by driving slow, spotting the spill, and avoiding it or at least driving through it at a crawl like the other cars

3rdly:
he is fishtailing... nothing fancy and most people who lose control will end up doing this if they don't crash 1st with a spinout. fishtailing is caused by too much oversteer so the car is about to spin out in the opposite direction so you panic and oversteer the other way and it continues back and forth till you regain grip/lose pace etc. now i'd be impressed if on the 1st loss of traction he turned it into a drift and recovered that way.

4thly:
a good driver wouldn't have done points 1 and 2 and a trained driver wouldn't of done point 3.

We were more talking about the speed of his reaction crudman but valid points nevertheless.

This isn't drifting. Firstly, it's a late model Audi so it's not RWD. Secondly, it's about losing control by someone who has no right to drive fast. Enjoying the Autobahn entails many responsibilities. It's about proactive driving, watching the road ahead in conjunction with unadulterated fun.

I'm with crudman.

But may I also add:

5th:

He did not stay in his lane at any time!! He even when he was not near any cars, he was half-half in a lane, or skipping lanes to have a better "line" at the corner.

6th:

The car would not have ESP/ASC BUT if you listen carefully he yells "Quattro" just after he saves it. So maybe it is a Quattro version (AWD)
