Hi Guys,

How much should it cost for a standard 15,000km service for my Ralliart?

Currently quoted $300 from a Mitsubishi dealer.

That sounds pretty reasonable.

Check what your Service Manual mentions & requires, and request they follow it and replace all as stated in the book.

If your car falls in the capped price service it should be $260 for a 15000km service not $300.

I bought mine 4 months before the capped price servicing so I paid about $230 but I supplied my own oil, so $300 all inclusive isn't too bad.

Had my 30k service just before easter and it was $370 for service and coolant flush (again supplied my own oil).

I also scored free brake fluid as I told them not to replace due to my pending brake upgrade but they did it anyway so FREEBIE :)

Ended up costing $285... Odd thing is they couldn't rotate tyres because the inner sides have worn to badly and there no longer considered road worthy... they car has 12,000km on it and I could have sworn dealer said they were new when i brought it at 7,000km.

This does not seem normal for the yokohama advan's? i was expecting 25k +

PS
I have never spun the wheels/slid sideways.... took me 12months to do 5,000km

If the wheel alignment was out, the RA is bad for wearing tyres. Spinning the wheels does not cause a part of the tyre to wear. Incorrect tyre pressures, and wheel alignment is what causes it.

hmm any recommendations for replacement tyres? most likely changing rims to 18x8 also...

That really depends on your budget :)

Lets just say the ~$485 per A10 is probably not the best option.

Grip in wet and dry, and not as much road noise would be best at a lower cost.

Does it exist?

Thanks for the help so far guys!

Cheaper option is a Kumho KU31. Probably about $200 per tyre.

If you want to go up to a higher priced and better performing tyre. The Bridgestone RE001, and Michelin Pilot Sport 3 are meant to be very good.

Better off going to a 225 from the standard 215 width. They are a more common size, and therefore you will get them cheaper. 225 is the widest you can run on the standard rims. If you go to an 18x8" rim, look at running a 235 tyre and you might find them a bit cheaper again.

I mentioned this elsewhere but I found that ordering tyres from tirerack.com in the US to be very affordable. I paid a shade under $300usd for shipping to Sydney.

Tirerack is good.

Just be aware that some tyres have different compounds in the US compared to here. Most don't though and there is no issue with importing. Just something to check.

looks fine to me but i think it's pretty close to it tho , maybe bring it to a tyre shop and let them properly show you then decide from there , best is to ask them if it's still roadworthy , it can either go three ways.

1. Their dodgy as hell like dealership and ask you to replace it eventhough theres still some meat in it. Solution : Tirerack
2. They check it and still say there's meat and roadworthy , perfect !
3. They properly show you how they check and show you there really isn't any meat left. Time to do some shopping online @ Tirerack

I've bought my set of Hankook V12s Evo from Tirerack and the whole process was smooth and fast , no dramas what so ever , ordered and came in 4-5 business days. Great tire in wet and dry , huge noise reduction compared to my stock Dunlop SP600 and great price @ $900-$930 delivered for 265/35/18.

It's a great daily tire but not the best if you plan to track it. If you only want a set of street tires for daily and occasional trackday , Advan AD08 or Hankook RS3 :)

Hmm the Hankook V12 Evo sound like the tire to get, do you remember how much shipping was?

The tires will set me back around $550 Aus excluding delivery.
This is for 235/40/18 to fit a Rota Grid 18x8.5 +44 without rubbing? i hope!
