I've just had my lancer do the 3mth/1.5km service and noticed that they put and extra 60 Kms on the odometer. Is this normal? Or did they take my car for a ride to the blue mountains..

Wow that's odd! I had mine done this morning and I only noticed a couple of extra km's on the ODO. No idea why yours was so high? Maybe they used it as the run about for the day.

That's bad. I would actually ask about it. You shouldn't have more than 10kms perhaps if they wanted to test something.

I remember my 1,500k service, we stayed in the waiting room which had a reasonably good view of the workshop, no way did Betty go anywhere, the driveway out the service area is right by the waitng room. They did ask if i had any issues before it went in, as there were none, they had no need to take her for a spin!

60km!!!! Holy smokes I'd be questioning that.
Thanks for the heads up will be taking a pic of my odo when I do mine in 1000km time.

Only saw this thread but I have to say in my case that, if anything, they would've taken it out for a spin around the block to see if there was something extraordinary. That would've been around 2 km at most on the path they take for test drives at my dealer.

I zeroed the B trip computer and put it onto something else when I got mine done after reading this. It only had about 5kms on it. I zero it every time I take it to the mechanics now

just note down the odometer reading, probably better as I believe they can't change that??? and even if they could would they go to the trouble??

60kms would be about an hour or so of drivetime ? seems nuts.

[/quote:96bd7516fb] If they are really careful, perhaps they may even zero the trip computer again just before handing the car back to you.
I do the B trip and then put it back on the fuel consumption setting. I might just note the mileage next time but usually I don't have a pen anyway
