Hey all,

I'm looking for a good Mitsu official service centre in Sydney. Preferably ones that don't frown upon you for a few safe mods.
Anyone have any good experiences with knowledgable service departments in Sydney?

Cheers!

I took my RA to Lander in Blacktown yesterday, customer service is very good. Every person I ask in that place about mods says something different.

At the end of the day when it comes to mods don't trust what any service guy says and if possible restore to stock before taking it in.

Checked the oil when I got home and it was just as black and dirty as it was before they "changed it".

Ringing to ask wtf is going on.

Anyone checked the oil after a service?
I don't know about you guys but after I change the oil myself on all my other cars, after a change the oil in the engine is the same colour as it is in bottle.

Thats a pretty big oversight of them, make sure hey changed the oil filter as well.

I've never taken mine to a dealer for scheduled service, just for the 1st complementary one which they don’t do much anyway.

Yeah, definitely let them know about it & see if you can get the next change for free, as you have been inconvenienced.

Yeh turns out they didn't replace the filter.

So there’s 4 litres of Mobil1 plus the cash for the service wasted.
They offered to change the filter and they wanted to reuse the oil that’s in there and top it up with a blend of gtx2 and magnatec. I told them to just give me the filter and I will change it myself.

They won’t give me a refund because they said the Ralliart service manual they have says they do not need to change the oil filter and because they didn’t know any better the service was still done properly.

Never going back to that place, what a waste of time and money.

WTFBBQ

ALWAYS, ALWAYS replace the oil filter everytime you change oil... For the sake of $10 - cheaper than a new engine

I'd never go there again mate

That's what I thought.

I understand people make mistakes but they made no effort to apologize or fix the problem in a fair manner.

Not to mention I originally had the car booked in to have the recall fixed as well, only to find out after they did the “oil change” they didn’t have the parts in so I had to waste another day for them to do the recall.

Definitely never going there again and if i knew they wouldn’t fix their stuff up I would not have taken my car back there for the recall.

LOL I can't believe they actually did an oil change without replacing the filter!!

Such an awesome idea having your nice clean oil flowing through a filter that is dirty from the other oil. It should be mandatory in the service manual to replace the filter...

Yes they have you on technicality, but if they continue like this then they are not going to keep their customers too happy!!

I had to show them the service book that says the oil filter must be replaced. They say the old Ralliart book says it doesn’t need to be replaced and they didn't know.
I’m sure they are just spinning crap because they don’t want to admit fault.

I'm going to call Mitsubishi HQ and department of fair trading to see what they say.

While I was there they gave a woman a $30 AMF bowling pass so who knows what they stuffed up on her car as well.

Yeah it is not good enough, for the sake of customer satisfaction, they should have sorted it out for you....

That sux about Mitsi Blacktown, I took my car there for the 1500km's 'inspection' and they seemed ok...but then again pretty hard to get that one wrong...

Anyway, on the original post, now I have the same problem...where to take my slightly modded RA for it's first (7500kms) svc in Sydney and not have the need to check whether they did change the oil, and the filter and all the other bits they are supposed to do....

A picture tells a thousand words...
I just changed the oil and this is what came out, as you can see the filter is black and the oil is the same colour.

Your guess is as good as mine.

That's after 6 days.

Now it's so clean I have trouble seeing the oil on the dip stick :)

But you said back 5 days ago it was black on the dipstick, so add it all together and I'd bet they didn't change it.

Wow. get onto Mitsubishi HQ ASAP!

looking at that photo i very highly doubt they changed the oil.

the filter holds what 0.5L compared to 4ish in the sump, even if the filter was full of dirty oil the new oil would have diluted it at least a bit you would imagine?
