Hey guys
Just dropped in my 08 lancer vr for a quick check as to why my abs service light came on a few times last night. Service girl said it would be under warranty..unless...
She said it was a case of it has to be a manufacturer's fault to be in warranty.. now I'm confused. Can anyone think of ANY reason why the abs light showing would be my fault? I'm a safe driver of late - went crazy in my pulsar but calmed down in this car.
And surely the sensor could just "wear out" in age...? Wouldn't it be under warranty then?
I don't want to get ripped off here (plus I can't really spare ANY change lol

I was gonna say the same thing, RE: After market wheels.

But it should come under warranty, I wouldn't expect to pay if it was me!

If the wheels and tyres are within ADR, then they shouldn't blame the issue on them.

You shouldn't have to pay for it, but if you have to, then they should tell you first before any work is done.

Aftermarket wheels fitted by garage at purchase - 110,000km ago.
I've never touched brakes - brake pads were redone also by garage 15,000km ago

Have you ever thought it might be an electrical gremlin and there could be nothing wrong with the abs ... It just seam strange that all of a sudden it happened either way is should be covered by warranty

Man that sig is big :P

Yeah as long as you've never touched the brakes and its OEM it won't be your fault.
Unless you drove through a massive puddle or something... I'm not sure how the sensor works...
