throbbing noise

Since I changed the oil in my NA Lancer with penrite 10 50, I've had a throbbing coming thru the firewall. This is only noticeable at idle, warm idle and does not seem to affect performance althouh I may be using more fuel, which could also be put down to the CAI I installed shortly after. I was thinking engine mount or bent chassis but would appreciate any opinions. Can't be heard in the engine bay over the incessant clicking of teh injectors

It will be your CAI.Some of them are quite noisey they do little to muffle the intake noise.

It's not the CAI, I already know this. Any other suggestions before I put it in the hands of idiot mechanics?

Check to male sure oil is not over full, this can give a dull noise you can hear at idle if sump is too full. Hope you find whatever it is....

Darren, we do have feelings you know.Maybe you need to look around and find a good mechanic. They are out there.
How have you proved that the CAI is not the problem?Did you remove it and refit the OEM airbox?

It started before I put the CAI on, I thought it was just the after oil change settlle, but it has lasted, mechanics have feelings? I'm sorry, I thought they just overcharged and didn't do their work properly, if you can find a good mechanic in Wollongong who isn't a thief, I'd love to meet him

Could be a bingo, looks right, but then, I'm half blind and new oil is hard to see on those sticks
