Creaking when turning

Hi, a couple of days ago I noticed a creaking sound when turning, it seems to be manly at low speeds (it's a bit hard to hear over the road noise at speed). Like reversing out of my drive way, parking lots, etc.
I've checked my power fluid n that's still nearly at the max line. Btw sushis done 40k kms n seems fine with everything else.

I get the same thing. BR14AN explained what it was to me but I can't remember. He ended up temporarily fixing it with some of that locktight stuff to different parts of my suspension (control arms etc) when we took my wheels off. Went away for a couple of weeks then it came back.

I heard this noise can occur from the top of the front struts - test drove a 2010 VRX that had the same noise but mainly noticeable over speed humps and quite loud....should be covered under warranty tho.

Its most likely your sway bar end link being a tiny bit loose, pretty much every lancer Ive been in has made the noise.

Take your wheel off, you will see the strut assembly.

On the side of the strut is this tab where the end link attaches to.

Used a 14mm spanner and the appropriate hex key to take it off, apply loctite and then retighten as hard as you can.

Or if you dont have loctite just tighten it up.

See if that fixes it.

Rach You still would have your warranty as even 2nd owner the 5 yr warranty carries over ....

The 5 year warranty is only drivetrain though... Right?

Jake , Iam pretty sure That the drive chain is the 10 yr warranty that dosen't carry on with the 2nd owner although the 5 yr warranty does carry on as I have a 08 VR " 2nd Owner " & My warranty is still going to 2013 ...

Strangely enough Rach I didn't know it carried over either when I had brought my car & then Mitsubishi picked up something " When I had my car in for it's service " with a part which was recalled & since then I have had 2 things fixed under Warranty ....

Every car comes with a 3 year new car warranty. Have a look in your logbook, if your previous owner had met the requirements ie. did the 3yr service at Mitsu, then they'll extend the new car warranty for another 2 years, making up the 5 year warranty.

Drivetrain warranty is 10 yrs, however not transferable to the 2nd owner.

Is the noise anything like what you can hear in the video in this thread?

http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=9448& ... sc&start=0

Problem was...
Sway bar end links & bushes were faulty (just as others have found worldwide).

Mitsubishi covered it under warranty, even though my warranty had expired (due to raising the issue prior to the warranty running out).
