Great attitude.
Just be really carefull changing the spark plugs if it's something you've never done before.
Ask for help and guidance with a person who knows what there doing next to you , because you don't want to damage said plugs or the coil packs.
Good luck and have fun working on her.

Re: Are K&N filters really worth it??
I've ordered NGK Iridium as well.
I tried to undo the plugs but they were hard as a rock and the little tool I had didn't feel very strong at all so I'll need to get a proper socket I think...

Re: Are K&N filters really worth it??
If there factory original they will be VERY tight to undo. Trick is getting them right when you do the new ones up.
Don't panic about torque wrenches and perfect torque settings.
This is where a practiced hand comes in handy. Spark plugs aren't rocket science , don't over complicate them , steady , steady wins the race and patience.

I'm not a mechanic of any description but I know the basics and only have very basic tools so I'll have to get proper tools, I do like how easy this engine is to work on like the plugs on top in their own little compartment

All good , I am. Back in the days of brand new MR2s , 80 series cruisers and VN commonwhores. Great days when cars were cars.
Like Bumble said , go get yourself a decent half inch drive socket set , Sidchrome come to mind as a great beginner set , and go from there.

Yeah I'll have a look around, oh I've had a few commonwhores back in the day but this Lancer is worlds away from that and I feel so blessed
