Hi everyone,
this is my first post here (besides introduction).
I have been following the stickies and threads here on modification for my CJ lancer and well, I just got rear ended 2 days ago.
From what I can tell was: the car in front of me braked hard to a stop and I had to turn to the left(one lane road) and brake at the same time to avoid hitting him. Right when I felt relieved after bringing the car to a complete stop and about to swear at the 2 cars in front for stopping that suddenly (70kmh road), BAM. And those 2 b*stards sped off promptly.
I got out of the car, it was previous gen corolla, RED P, FEMALE TEENAGER - what can I say?
Her air bags deployed, headlights, bumper and fender destroyed, hood crushed back, radiator leaking and I even had to pull open the door for her to get out.
And this is my car:
Sorry for the bad photo. I reckon most of the bumper bar took the impact.
The bumper was destroyed to the point the bar itself is visible.
What do you guys think?

Dang. I had hoped it will be an excuse to get a faster car. Hahaha. Cause the tow guy, who is a full time mechanic, part time driver said he thinks it would be a write off.
The whole repair is going to handled by the insurance (both of us have insurance and I have made a claim already). Is it possible to choose a different bumper? Plus I think ralliart has twin exhaust..

I would not be surprised if this is a write off.
That has very extensive damage. Once you look underneath the car and behind the bumper you will see a lot of damage.
I can see rear bumper, boot, rear quarter panels all damaged just as a start.
I would not want my car repaired after that damage.
How do your doors align?
Is your roof dented?

It's only classed as a writeoff if it costs more to repair than the cost to replace the car and yes, the insurance company will replace like for like. You could contact the chick and get her to pay for the RA bumper and cost to fix it then her insurance isn't affected or yours
2010 Lancer Ralliart <3

You are kidding yourself if you think that only the bumper needs replacing.
Have a look at the boot and quarter panels. The bottom of the boot will all be pushed in.
I would be surprised if the roof was still in its original shape.
Tbh, I rather it is written off, so I can get a faster car...maybe a whole ralliart, not just the bumper. LOL. CJ lancers seems to take a hit pretty well eh.
Here's another photo I took just today.
Exhaust seems to be falling off too.
Roof doesn't look like it was dented, doors opens and closes fine.
Bumper bar's bent inwards..
The girl's corolla totaled for sure so we are both doing it through insurance.
She admitted she didn't exactly see me braking so yep.
