"JAPAN EARTHQUAKE"

Postby SAM-24A » Fri Mar 11, 2011 6:17 pm

Do we have any Japanese members and/or which of our Affiliates are in Japan near the quake zone Sendai?

Do you have any family or friends in this area ?
Have you heard from them ?

I'm no Economist by any stretch, but this recent disaster in Japan is sure to rock the World Economic Trade Market.

We should pray for the loss of life which is sure to dwarf the recent New Zealand Quake.

Channel 9 is running a special bulletin on it, and showing how much damage the Tsunami is actually causing, memories of the Thailand Tsunami Dec 2004.

Sam.

I have more than half a dozen friends in Japan (3 fellow students, and 2 scientists I've worked with and 1 ex-boss). Among those, one of them is prescisely from the Miyagi Prefacture - Sendai (the capital in particular).

He has not replied to any emails nor SMSes which is probably because all comms are out in his area.

It will probably eff the world economy but the loss of life may surprise you as Japan is far more advanced and prepared for earthquakes.

If you read the warnings, it may well get worst moving forward.

I sincerely hope your friends are safe and unharmed Irving, especially your friend directly in the danger zone Sendai.

I know Japan is best Earthquake Proofed than most countries in the world, however Tsunami's are a natural force that is almost impossible to proof against successfully.

Thoughts for your friends,

Sam.

Their building codes for earthquakes would probably the best in the world, but as for that tsunami, I would believe there is no avoiding that.

Hopefully other nations won't be swamped by the flow on effects of the tsunami either.

I hope your friends are ok and well. Such a terrible tragedy, seeing the vision live on sky news this afternoon as that wall of water destroyed everything in its path. Thoughts and prayers are with japan.

Just in case any of you wanna know how a Mitsubishi factory faced up to this or how it felt to be in a car when the Tsunami came raging in.

Watch this.

p.s.How many Mitsus can you spot?
