The lancer was filthy! Shame! And it's so hot here in Brisbane. The solution? Take it to an auto detailer!

Today I dropped the lancer off at Magic Hand Carwash's new store in Mt Gravatt shopping centre. Yes, there used to be another owner there, but the store (formerly Car Wash Cafe) has changed hands and is now owned by the multi-store Magic Hand Carwash.

The difference? The Car Wash Cafe used to do a shoddy job that left large scratches and other imperfections. I was, however, quite pleased with Magic Hand Carwash.

They have only been operating at their new Garden City store for 9 days.

Firstly, the standard vacuum, then the hand wash followed by hand polish and clean. They didn't miss anything, it was all professionally done in 45 minutes. They take a little longer than most places, but they do quite a good job. The bonus is that you can leave the car and then go shopping if you wish.

Being a brand new(ish) lancer, the scratches caused by washing were noticible but nothing out of the ordinary for a standard wash (especially considering how much dirt had built up >.<). Apart from these wash scratches and a few smudges here and there, it was in factory condition; a pretty good effort considering that there was everything from dust, mud, melted tyre rubber (from normal driving, i can assure you :P) and tree sap all over the car.

The staff were very friendly and approachable. Any problems I found with the car were immediately fixed up with no issues (minor human errors).

Most of their stores are located in Melbourne, but a few more are popping up all over the place. Soon they will impliment a frequent visitor discount card too.

In short, you can do a better job yourself (as with all quick car wash places), but considering the condition the car was in, and how quickly they did the job, I would recommend them if you simply can't be bothered.

Locations and pricing at their website.

I worry about taking my car anywhere like these car wash "boutiques"
Had damage done before, so I'd rather do it myself at home and know it's done properly! :D
