New small global mitsubishi car to be built in Thailand next year. Looks like a baby Lancer. Looks cute and I want one. I hope they bring it here. Its suppose to be the new entry model into Mitsubishi so this thing might end up being the new Colt or sit below it. Fuel effecient 1.0-1.2l engine for markets where small cars sell. Small cars sell down here.

Either way I still want one, looks cute. I like the 3 door version, its just asking for a black roof, 16" wheels (17 might be too big) and supercharge it. Hypo baby Lancer

Will forget about the Polo GTi and Mito if they bring the little baby Lancer here. The Colt comes from Thailand doesnt it??

I had the impression that there was already a Colt replacement with the front that looks similar to the ASX/Lancer.

I guess that concept would be similar to the Suzuki Alto in size. The Colt is probably as small as I can physically go, so I'll leave that new Mitsubishi to the ladies :P

From what Mitsubishi have said lately they wont be bringing in any updates to the Colt range visually. They said something about that version of the Colt too; we not getting it as they are waiting for the all new version from Japan or something.

Either way I still want the baby Lancer. We find out next year when they start making it in Thailand

The mini Lancer aka Colt CZ3 in the wiki link has been on sale in Europe including the Ralliart version...

I hope they never bring that Euro Colt here. The ASX and Outlander went well with the Lancer nose, that thing didnt... The ASX I would consider buying but I dont need a car that size. Little baby Lancer though I do want.

I not sure but I think Mitsubishi did not want to bring in the facelifted Colt as it was soon to be replaced by an all new Colt so they held off till the new one comes. Something like that.

If it works out, baby Lancer dont start being made till 2011 fiscal year (post June next year) for debut as a MY12 model cycle so it should enter markets 4th quarter 2011/Early 2012 if it comes here. I think Mitsubishi had no new cars coming for next year apart from the MY12 models of their current line up but they werent sure for the last quarter of 2011/early 2012. The iMiev being too expensive as an entry into Mitsubishi and the Colt not selling well leaves a pretty good position for the baby Lancer.

With some Motor Shows coming in before the 2011 fiscal year; we may see the baby Lancer in physical concept form instead of drawing. I still want one; plenty time to save up for one.
