Does any one own a Mitsubishi 380?
I need some one who has one to do some experiments. This will be very valuable to all members.
I believe the front brakes from a 380 will fit our Lancers. This will be a cheap brake upgrade that will give us better brakes and also parts that are readily available. They are 294mm X 28mm discs and Twin Callipers.
If some one can check then I am sure members can easily get them from wreckers.

Troy as i said to you at the evo gsr night last week, AWD/ralliart magna rotors are the same size etc as the ralliart CJ lancer (DBA part number 417 for both of these cars).
Now these "larger" rotors fit a normal stock TE-TW magnas in place of there smaller 276mm front rotors and it is also a common conversion on these magnas to fit 380 rotors (same diameter as the AWD/ralliart ones except they are thicker 28mm vs 24mm) and calipers.
So saying that, it means that the rotors between the standard magna, AWD/ralliart magna, ralliart lancer and 380 are interchangeable.
So brief run down of the above:
Standard FWD magna: 276x24mm rotor, single piston alloy caliper with 1203 brake pads
AWD/Ralliart magna: 294x24mm rotor, twin piston cast iron caliper with 1223 brake pads
Mitsubishi 380: 294x28mm rotor, twin piston alloy caliper with 1778 brake pads
Im running the AWD/ralliart brakes allround on my magna, also evo 6-9 brembo calipers and rotors bolt straight on to a magna
Now the calipers and rotors stated above are swapable between all model magna/veradas from the 1996 TE/KE model onwards.
Sorry if ive confused people with the above post as it doesnt talk about CJ lancers

I would love some bigger brakes down the track when I need some new pads.
Troy didnt pick it up..... I told him about the 380 brakes
Oh and if someone can go measure the mounting bolt spacings on the CJ lancer calipers that will help as well, as the 3rd gen magna/380 have 160mm spacing.

No its not about credit its about facts
To be honest i couldnt really give a s**t as none of it applys to my cars but it will be of help to others
I am looking into options at the moment there is a Melbourne brake place that makes upgrade kits for falcodores that uses a big standard PBR twin piston caliper.
What is needed is a calliper with a GT style mount ie the bracket is right angled with the calliper mounts perpendicular to the caliper itself.
I am trying to track down whether this type of calliper is available.

I'm sure I am not the only one that appreciates the help that people like yourself put in for others
Knowing nothing about this kinda stuff, if the 380 brakes fit, do you need to upgrade the brake lines as well or are the factory lancer ones adequate?

The MRT big brake kit uses the PBR C5/6 (i think) twin piston caliper, which is similar to the caliper used in the optional "premium brake" on the BA XR6T and XR8 falcon

That will be known once someone compares calipers etc. If i had a standard CJ lancer i could compare it to the calipers on my magna but unfortunately i only have a evo.
