For those of you that may be interested, here are the final flight times for the F1-11's over some parts of NSW and QLD.
The jet has spent 37 years in service, has never fired a shot in anger, and this Friday (03DEC10) will be the last time that this great aircraft is airborne.

Just thought that some of you may be interested.....

Will definitely be sad to see them go.

The new F-18's just don't have the same character...

Will be at a training sessions for work, so I won't be able to catch the Richmond one. Might be able to catch a glimpse of it as it passes the Harbour Bridge, but that might be it.

Thankfully I have had the pleasure of working with these beautiful aircraft, was most definately the highlight of my RAAF career. They flew over on Saturday night just gone for the Ipswich Mayor's Xmas thingy, and I shed a tear or two.
On Friday I will be working out at the base at Amberley so I will get to see them taking off and landing for the last time, and can get one last 'cuddle' with my babies. They may be replaced by a newer aircraft, but the sheer beauty and grace that the 'Pig' has can never be replaced.
Now off to the shops to stock up on tissues in preparation for Friday.... *Cry*

Pity they are not coming down this way (Victoria), but I did see one doing serious stuff @ Puckapunyal a couple of years ago.
