So my rear left passanger door has been damaged for some time now, and roughly 3 months ago i booked it in to be fixed (with insurance $600) at Belair Smash Repairs in Landsdale Perth. They have to replace my car door skin with a new one is what they told me.. Fair enough. But why will they need my car from today, Monday, until Friday????
Is this common?
To change a door skin?..
4 days to go ):

it is strange they are doing the door skin. i didn't even know Mitsubishi sells door skins. but replaceing skins of the car do take a fair bit of time, as they have to cut the old one off. then weld a new one on, smooth it all out, then paint. 3-4 days would be normal

Yeah thats just what they said, not to sure if they will just replace the whole door though.
Anyways, thanks, good to know they aren't just stuffing me around even further >.<

Well I got sideswiped a year back & they ended up replacing the passenger side door skins. Common & the panel beater had my car for 5 days as well.

Actually mate be glad it is taking so long, I know of a place that will replace a door skin in one day. Good you say, well no the quality of the work is absolute crap as the job is not finished correctly and the paint is forced to cure far too fast.
