Can I disable the bells and buzzers in my 2010 VRX, the ones for seatbelt and stearing lock are driving me to drink, well that could be a good thing :)

Definitely can't adjust the ones for seat belts, the driver and front passenger seat belt buzzer is a requirement for its vehcile safety rating. Why aren't you wearing a seat belt anyway??

However you may be able to reconfigure some of the other buzzers using a dealer with a MUTIII. What settings can be altered are all listed in the workshop manual for the CJ.

There'd be a buzzer somewhere you could short-circuit (connecting its two wires).

There is also some ability to reprogram some of the functions on our cars I believe, there is a thread somewhere here about it.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Edit: The headlight dinging is the one that annoys me, as it turns them off for you straight after anyway
And yeah I hope you're driving with a seatbelt. The warning about the passenger seatbelt annoys me though (as it happens when Im parked).

If you want to risk popping something in an ECU!

You'll probably find the buzzer has a plug which you simply unclip or you cut the wires, ie. open circuit not short circuit.

Yeh Smithy's wright, connecting (shorting out) the wires will probably cause your ETACS-ECU to go snap-crackle-pop.

The price to replace that will drive you to drink !!

I think simply unplugging the connector/plug should do it.

I was assuming it was hard-wired. No idea why...
If its not then yeah, just unplug it :P
(none of this helps you find it hey :P)

I might b mistaken but, ull probably find the buzzer is part of the instrument cluster and so will make life super hard to just unplug it

Thank you all, yes I am wearing my seat belt when I am driving, but when I am in the driveway moving my car around is the problem, also when I have the door open with the raido on, I don't mind the one when the door is not locked properly, that one I can live with, but all the rest are over the top.
