Is it just me or when you use your tiptronic gear shift, does the car get louder? and why... always wondered lol.

I drive a CVT and my VR has the tiptronics on the normal gear shift instead of the VRX flippy paddles

Not sure why it would get louder (i've got a manual!), but did you know you can install the paddle shifters if you wanted to??

In my Evo I would've guessed it's because in manual mode the engine would be more likely to rev higher as it's not shifting at the most fuel efficient or lowest rpm possible- i.e. it's waiting for the driver to shift up.

... but in a CVT, it's all "simulated". *shrugs*

JaCe is pretty much right, the higher the revs the louder the engine will be basically.

do the paddle-mod!!! its so much fun, it should be banned!!

Hey bandit is it possible to do paddle shift conversion?..how is it done?

All you need is the shifters and the steering console surround then everything simply plugs into the wiring hidden in the steering console. Provided you have the CVT all the wiring is already there for the paddles.

Ofey is the best member to talk to about getting them.

Nah I think the total cost is like $300 or something, I was quite surprised. I already have the paddles , never really used them until I did the Qld cruise through alot of twisties and they were great fun .

So in summary its louder because it's revving more since the computer isnt shifting for me?

Does this mean any increased performance or is it all grunt no go

chubb, rang the mitsubishi parts today enquiring about paddle shifters and was told it can't be done. He said there's too many components needed installing it.

And they are totally plug and play as a few members here have done it, tools required a couple of screw drivers and say 20 - 30 mins.

wrong... did the mod myself, in about 15 minutes using only the two components bought from Ofey...

Easy and fun to drive after..

Oh, you have to supply two screws and two 8mm bolts on your own..

can anyone suggest where can i get it installed in syd
