IMO Custom would be a car that's been heavily modded..

EG engine conversion, full bodykit that changes the look of the car alot or other dramatic change in the car

It's easy to say "These rims were custom made for the car, they had to get the nut size changed from 5x120 to 5x114.3 because they werent made for 5x114.3 so they're the only one in Australia"

Sure, they're custom rims per se, but the car isn't custom because of a custom set of rims.

If that makes sense :P

Custom to me means one of a kind, not off the shelf

To me, custom is a 'one-of'. No other examples of it exist. A custom car would have to be one of a kind, no other like it anywhere. A custom car would be the highest form of car modding apart from a kit car. Everything on it would have to be altered in some way, nothing left as off the shelf either. Only exception would be wheels.

A custom mod however would be something that differs from its original UOI.

A modded car is not always a custom car.

Custom - made to the specifications of an individual customer (often in the combinations custom-built, custom-made)

meaning of Custom. so a car can be custom with non custom parts.

custom parts would have to be made to how someone has specified.

by the definition, if you have modded your car to how you want it then it is a custom car, just the parts in aren't custom by the definition.

other then that its up to the person that owns the item persay to whether it is custom.

my Car to me is Not Custom even tho by the definition it is. personally. my car only has a few truly custom things on it, the Springs(made to what i said Not of shelf) and a few other thing that i have done myself personally.
