We had the diamond emblem badge stolen off our boot today
Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them. Rung Mitsu - a new one is gonna set us back $37.50........ we're gonna replace it this time but if it happens again I think we're just going to leave the car without it.

It happens unfortunately
Personally I think the boot needs that badge, but it is entirely up to you really.
Look on Ebay too, you can often get them cheap...

I hope they did not damage your paint?
I assume they are only held on with double sided tape.
Some people just have no respect for peoples property

Did it leave a mark or any holes? Outta interest would you take a photo just to show us what it looks like underneath?

The diamond badge are held on with tape. There are no holes underneath at all.

Hey Shane, yeah, I think the boot needs the badge too but if it keeps happening I don't want to keep spending money replacing it. Hopefully it's just a one off. Mitsu are keeping one for us, Kal is picking it up on Friday (he's going down to Penrith to get the VRXs and Yokos put on - yay) so he's gonna pick it up while he's down there...... If it happens again I'll check ebay out. There are none on ebay at the moment.
Lol, that's OK Stacey. Maybe you should have hung onto it in case yours gets knocked off!
Hi Ron! I park in an underground carpark at work. I park it there because it has these huge pillars in between each car space so I can't get hit by any car doors and also because it keeps the car out of the elements. But the down side is that it's really dark in there so no one can see what's going on behind the car. I'm glad I always reverse in or they might have taken the front one. Maybe if I had parked outside the badge might still be there!!
Hey Troy, the paint, amazingly enough, looks good, I can't see any scratches. The car is a little dirty and I didn't want to go rubbing the dirt around on the paint with my fingers so I'm gonna go out to the garage later and clean around it properly to make sure. Yeah, looks like double sided tape. It's brown, and it's still on there - it looks terrible
Yeah, people don't give a rat's arse about other people's property.
Will post a pic shortly JaCe.......

As long as the thief took it off with a bit of care, there shouldn't be any marks or holes.
Bugger =S stupid people no respect for others.

Why would anyone do that?
I wonder sometimes about the mentality of people who steal badges or wheel caps or the like
OR
those who vandalize other people's cars.
What does that achieve for them? You still don't own the car and neither will you get anything out of it. The miserable existance of these people will just go on.
Oh well... . @ A$37, it's a small price to pay.
I shudder to think about someone key-ing my car but who's to say it won't happen?

Was just about to say it makes no sense...
If they hate the car, they'd surely find something more destructive to do? (keying etc)
If they want the badge and understand how to take it, they must know its nigh worthless money-wise?
Very happy for you that this is all they did

Hi Michelle
Thats sucks big time
Maybe a member here who has de badged will have one spare?
There are people out there who just dont care
I have had a previous Lancer keyed etc, it's not a nice feeling at all
Glad there was no serious damage

Ie they're too cowardly to do serious damage, they're just getting off by being a nuisance.
Pathetic... Bad people without the guts to do serious things.
Of course its serious to seventies chick though. And again, lucky they didn't do anything worse.
If they didn't damage the paint taking it off, it'll clean up like new.
Had my rear badge replaced not long after getting the car (discovered the SB hatch doesn't quite fit in the garage
).

Maybe they like shiny things? People can get OCD for shiny objects. Badge is shiny

Sheesh! Luckily I've debadged my car, save some potential thief the trouble.
Know a lot of Merc & VW badges being nicked, but really surprised someone will go for a Mitsu logo.
