Though you might like to see some pics of my old evo X... it was 3 weeks old when the worst storm in recent memory hit perth... where was I? In the middle of it...

Here is the car pre storm...

Then the storm hits...

You can see the hail looks like snow... My car is circled (not very well) in red... the car alarm was set off and i stood watching for about 40 mins...

Here is the result...

Image

I admit its not the best photo but if you look at the way the lines of light run on the bonnet you can see its like an egg carton...

I was gutted...

New one is on order...

Yup. cheaper to give me a new one and sell the old at the auctions then try and repair. Damaged on every panel... roof, doors, quarters, boot, bonnet...

Gee it is bad luck with the hail damage.

You must have a good insurance company to ride it off and give you a new car.

Cant wait to see the new one.

AAMI have been great. Given the extensive nature of the damage - the roof especially - its not such a suprise...

Repairs would have cost $35-$50k.

A new one with the SST like mine was cost them $55k. they pick up $2k from me in insurance and excess. They sell mine for $35k at the auctions... so the cost is $18k rather then $35-$50k... makes sense when you think about it.

As for the new one... well i refused to take delivery last week as i was not happy with the paint on the roof - some marks i wanted fixed...

That sucks man, Although the lancers do dent and mark easily. But a hail storm would unleash all its fury onto such a nice car. Let me know if you want any parts as I'm returning mine to stock so I can sell it...

Good that you're getting a new one.

The better option, althought it takes a while, would be getting it fixed.
As we all know our lancers come with a very thin paint job.

When you get a new one, I'm sure you can get a protective film on ;)

Btw Evo X looks mean in black or white.

Blue... Mmmm not so mean

This is from a guy who drives a blue lancer.
I love blue lancers
Evo X in blue... Hmmmm... not really

It's just my opinion.

Good that things are working out for you ;)

you can make any colour evo look mean... ITS AN EVO, that on its own is mean.... Dunno about normal lancers though if that's what your trying to say.. black and white are plain and overdone IMO
