Shrine to the car that provided design inspiration for CJ

Postby Hoggy » Tue Dec 16, 2008 3:41 pm

The similarities are obvious, and therefore lessons can be learnt when looking to mod. Having reviewed the following pics, I am on a mission to find a similar looking exhaust sytem to the matt grey car, going to consider multi spoke rims, look into chrome door handles - and I have always wanted a matt grey car, with gloss decals. (doubt it will ever happen though)

Enjoy, and steel ideas....

I think chrome door handles are already a Mistubishi genuine part option.

yes chrome handles are a definate option, i see the similarity between the 2 cars even more so on the arse end.
but the Lancer for me looks the best, it shits on the Alpha, sorry hog'man
i love how it looks like a sharks head when you look at the front of a Lancer side on..
the twin exhausts do look great..

I agree 100%, the Lancer is a much better looking car, but you can't deny it got some of its inspiration from the Alpha. Mitsubishi took a good design and made it better.

As far as I'm concerned the CJ came first but was hidden from us all this time :P

The Alpha 156 was the first draft, the 159 the second draft, they finally perfected it with the CJ

The Alfa is a damn nice car thats for sure. Italian engineering. I still prefer to believe its modeled off something British, but meh.

Hoggy - if you find those exhausts - tell me.
