What a Volvo can really handle.
After a bit of talk today about volvo's I thought I would share some pics of my volvo's
This is this years car before, a 1977 volvo wagon with a 2.1 carby motor and a 4 speed auto gear box.
And this is after;
With this car I received third this year it stopped because a lead dropped of the coil. What you see here is actually not too bad this car will run again next with some very minor work, it still runs fine and is still very much drivable.
The best thing I find about the old Volvo's is the motor as mentioned it is a small 4cy carby motor with an auto, this engine gearbox combo has now done 270,000kms, 12months as a paddock basher, and now four demo derbys and will still start on the second or third crank.
Once I get home I will upload some pics of last years car, it was much worse than this but still drove.[/img]

Lolz, didn't notice the eyes until you pointed it out. Love the purples "flames" coming off the front.

It is actually supposed to be a tear graphic, the total paint job including masking and air brushing took near 8 hours and 10 minutes to destroy it.
Well here's the Volvo I was talking about earlier as one of the cars I learnt to drive on few years ago.
Volvo 1974 244 DL (upgraded to GL trim) 2.1L Fuel Injected 4 Speed Manual, with a triple plated clutch (Not good for your foot when in traffic lol). It has Aircon, Central Locking, Alarm and Immobiliser, 4 wheel Disc brakes, with ABS (can't remember if it was 1st or 2nd gen ABS). The gear shift has a very short throw on it like the Sega Daytona Arcade machine, so shifting quickly is very easy to do if you got a good clutch foot.
Been in the family for 30+ years since it was 2 months old, apart from the OEM Trim level upgrade that was purchased when the car was purchased, it's been stock. No mods.
Only major upgrade to it was the Alarm with immobilser and Stereo, which was a simple Sony Xplode MP3 head deck with 204wamp, Sony dual cone speakers, MTX 200W Amp driving a Kenwood 12" High Reflex Sub. Done around 290,000kms.

I will have to pull my finger out and get some pics of the volvo I had before this one. It did take a hiding by the end the car started and finished at the wheels as all the body work was pushed in that hard, not to mention I ended up putting the water pump through the radiator. Anyway I try to grab these at lunch.
Yea the C30 was actually on my "to get list" when purchasing my next new car last year.
I had my own reasons not to get it like lack of boot space and rear seats etc, but for those whom don't need those things, yeah it is a nice car and very nice to sit in and the quality is wonderful.
