raliart prices tanked?

so 12 months ago i bought my 09 ralliart sedan 55k+ on the clock for about 25k.
probably over payed a little but not too bad for the car i was after and anything similar i was looking at. (awd, turbo, P plate driveable for the missus)
while i love it i have been wanting to get back into a 4x4 again as i came from a triton and really do miss it. so been looking at prices and such and the ralliarts specifically 09-10 have dropped a whole heap in the last 12 months.
i have 67K on the clock now but i dont think id really be getting much over 13k trade in or 15-16 if i sold privately and im really not sure what happened?
anybody in the know with this sort of thing?

What makes you think you'd be getting so little?
Market value for Ralliarts of that year with those kays seems to be around 18K-ish. Could make more or less depending on your location, condition of car, how stubborn the buyers is etc.
I think the main factor is that you did overpay when you bought it. Looking at prices of cars from this year to last seems to show that they're about the same. Maybe a small drop in price due to the market shifting further to smaller economy cars, but nothing significant.
Does the car have any scratches or dints? Gutter rash? Chips in the windscreen or worn interior trim?
Try to fix up as much as you can yourself & that'll help when selling privately.
Should help to repel the buyers that think "Oh well there's a small 1.2mm scratch on the underside of the bumper, so that's got to reduce the car's value by at least $3,000" is a good way to bargain

i dont think i overpayed too much in all honesty. it had far lower km than anything else in my limited choice of vehicles that i wanted, and all the other raliarts that were on car sales at the time. even they were in the low $20k's. i was looking at turbo liberty wagons and wrx hatchbacks though.
no major marks or scratches/gravel rash. and still nearly brand new interior. i dunno, i just feel that the prices have dropped significantly in the 12 months ive had it.

I bought my 09 RA a few months ago with 64K for $15,500... IT was an absolute bargain, most of the other ones I had my eye on were around the 16-19K mark with twice as many K's lol...

Car came with a roadworthy and was given a detailed check by my local dealer when i returned from Melbourne. Gearbox and everything is in immaculate condition. Car was barely driven by the previous owner as he bought a Merc and travels to work by tram everyday. Car is way ahead of its service schedule as well.
He was asking the price he was because he wanted a quick sale and really had no use or attachment for it. 11/10 would buy one at that price again.
As for issues. I havent had a single problem with it. It barely gets driven as it is because I still have my white CJ as a daily which is more economical... and with a baby on the way I am not looking to break my RA and throw $1,000s into it. Its fast enough as stock. If I wanted more power I would have bought an evo.
And good for you. (Y)
