Rules on Selling Cars in QLD?

I need to sell my old CC coupe which is unregistered and needs a little work, do I need a road worthy certificate in QLD?

I have heard it depends on the vehicle and how it's being sold, looked up QLD transport but that just left me more confused.

The plan was get it back on the road and then sell it off but it's been too long and its better off going to someone who will do something with it.

I don't want to part it out!

I will list it here in the right thread once I work out a few things.

If you are selling the car with rego you must have a roady otherwise it doesn't matter

Thanks, but I guess the catch is you'll get less because they can't take it on a test drive and they then have to pay to get it on the road.

I'll have to do the math and check exactly how much it will cost to get 6 months rego.

selling unregistered is probably better off for you. the cost of registering, roadworthy AND any repairs needed if it fails the roadworthy won't be worth the extra few hundred dollars you may be able to get.

how old is the car? how long has it been off the road? what problems did it have before it came off the road?

all factors you need to look at.
