Do you rev-match
Hey guys just a question for the manual drivers
Do you rev match while down shifting
I.e hitting the throttle to match the rpm with the wheel speed before you engage the gear
I personally don't do it as I'm not on a track anymore
And should I be doing it for daily driving?
Someone who has just got their p's was having a whine today as I drove him home and told me I need to be with a whole lot of excuses (apparently it puts extra wear on your engine mounts)?
But I've only ever used it on the track

Is the P plate guy a mechanic or just a kid who thinks he knows everything about driving and cars now they have a license?
He would be the second option lol
Did raise questions for me though as I've never seen it as necessary on The road

Haha! Too much movies.
I agree as Craig mentioned, it depends on the situation.
Based on the question itself, I do rev match when down shifting because, I'm down shifting.
Maybe another question would be 'when do you down shift'? Approaching a red light to stop? Turning corners and then accelerating? Changing lanes to overtake? Etc...
It all comes down to the driver. You will feel your car. If the driver really knows his/her car and knows what he's/she's doing, then there's no problem.
Rev match if you need to and not if you don't.

Rev matching is FUN! and good practice for when you go for spirited runs :p
For the wear, id say less wear cause youre matching. But if you mis match then meh haha
But yeah cbf doing 24/7, depends on situation
