Not sure if there is a place for this already but I did search.
Anyway my drivers licence is up for renewal again and just wondering how much others pay in other states and how many years they normally go for?
Here in Qld 5 years for an open licence costs $154, about to go up about $5 July 1st.
Full details here
http://www.qld.gov.au/transport/licensi ... index.html
So how does Qld compare to other states?

This is from memory as if you wanted accurate you could google it as quickly as me (prob quicker), but I remember paying something similar last time I renewed my licence in NSW, I would have guessed I paid $145 for a 5 year licence. But... a few people have told me lately that if you haven't lost a point in 5 years then when you renew it's half-price. I have 18 months until I find out how true that is!

That's true in NSW if no issues on licence in 5 years renewal is half price, just done mine, you can also combine boat licence with drivers now too, but only up to five years.

Damn it, I've lost no point, wish they had that system here $77 is a lot cheaper.
Also it costs something like $68 if you choose to do it for just one year here! Do it for 5 and it costs you less than half that per year.
Now just need to work out if I can do this online or need to go down to them. Either way to save a few dollars I'll get it done before July 1st.

Yup, it's true 50% off as safe driver incentive.
Got surprised when I was told I was eligible cause I didnt know we had that. Not only that another pleasant surprise is that I can renew with a 10 year license, no idea we had that too.
So renewed my license, won't expire until 2025 and it only cost me $158.00 too.

Got the licence renewal today and found out because mine didn't expire until after July 1st I'd still have to pay the new high fee that comes in after that date.
What a rip off!
