I'm Back!!! - YEAH BABY!!!!!! :-)
Thanks to everyone who played the 'Why did Zaphod go to Gympie' game - the winner was a fellow Queenslander, SammyH, who correctly identified an Activ!
So, the reason for all the mystery and smiles is.... (drumroll) my new(isn) Mitzi...
Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Zaphod's Activ!
This is how the car was presented when I turned up at the dealers to pick it up (after a five and a half hour journey involving two buses and two trains) - I hadn't seen it 'in the flesh' before this.
I found the car on the interweb and had a very generous friend who lives up in Maryborough go and check it out for me - I was staggered at how good the car was when I got there - it far exceeded my expectations!
Other than some external 'car park' scuffs and a small scrape to the lower front bar it's perfect - the interior is immaculate - very happy with the car!
Look, while I really loved the Colt, it was a bit of a 'girl's car' and I really missed my old Bloo Lancer - I was miserable for a couple of weeks after getting rid of it, and this one was the right car at the right price (11/11 built MY2012)
So folks, I'm a Hoopy Frood again, and looking forward to introducing you all at Slepper's next drive day!

Already discussed that at the time - financial pressures I'm afraid...

Cheers Akram - I thought of you as soon as I first saw it - in the carsales ad it looked silver, but in the dealership it looked almost a champagne colour like yours!
It's actually A17 Warm Silver, kinda halfway between silver and yours.
At least I'm out of the 'bolo loop

lantourismo wrote:its a nice colour, not so many around on this site. whats the plan? Spoiler, fogs and grill?
Already bookmarked (non-oem) fog lights on eBay, spoiler & skirts are on there already, blackout the grille (of course) - working on a front bar (RA style).
The steering wheel is already the VRX leather type and the reverse sensors are factory, so that's a bit of money already saved!
The rest will have to wait until I can save the $$$

You don't see many, but in true form, I saw one turn in the other end of the street as I drove into work this morning!
And I figured "if Kay can pick up another Lancer, so can i"

Yep, Colt is gone - would have been a screamer with a blower - the engine loved to be revved and considering it was dragging 'round a heavy roof mechanism and a bald, fat bloke it went really well.
I got a good offer on the Colt (basically I ran around in it for a month for a total loss of 87cents! (I kept track of everything)
Great little car, would highly recommend one for a runabout and if I had the option, would have kept it as a second car...
Still, honestly thrilled to be back in a Lancer!
(and yeah, I know it's not an RA, but one day...)
