OMG the new lancer???
Translation:
A few months ago a rumor started claiming that the next generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer could use some electric technology . At that time it was unclear whether the model, the Evolution XI , would be an all-electric car , a hybrid , or if it was a version in the range .
Well, now the rumore have become harder and , according to Motor Trend, an inside source confirmed that Mitsubishi car, besides being electric Evo will be the best ever. What a statement!
The next generation model will be built on the basis of the PX - MiEV plug- in hybrid, a concept off-road presented during the last Tokyo Motor Show last October . Thus, the Evolution XI will benefit from the latest hybrid technology company , to which must be added the current 2.0-liter MIVEC petrol engine , which uses the current Japanese Galant . And here comes the most interesting : the main source of power Evo will not be the internal combustion engine , but the power will drive the front wheels. The 2.0 will take action when necessary to drive the rear wheels. According to the source consulted by Motor Trend, the electric drive will be an improved version used by i- Miev of 63 hp. Meanwhile , the 2.0 will generate an estimated output of 320 hp , and , between the two engines the car reach a total capacity of more than 380 horses.
The new Evolution XI will give drivers the ability to drive in EV mode ( electric only ) , but only for short distances. Also , this will improve fuel economy and CO2 emissions level .
Hopefully this plan as it sounds , the Mitsubishi Evo still maintains one of the sportiest cars on the planet. Although becoming an electric car .

http://www.caradvice.com.au/196808/mits ... -electric/

and I also read somewhere tht mitsu will only do full electric if it works on the lancers, so the evo xi is still a long way

Those concepts are more recent, doesn't mean they are accurate tho, but I have seen them more. There have been way too many rumors tho, from the Evo being Full Electrics, Hybrid, Diesel and even, No More Evo AT ALL!
I think we are better off waiting for the official Mitsubishi release on it tbh, I honestly would love a new Evo, Hybrid would be interesting, and open up a whole new world when it comes to tuning and parts. No Evo at all, well, that will just make the current once a little more special then wont it

the rumour I think is most likely true, tht mitsu wont realise the XI until they can make it more environmentally friendly and faster then X, so until then the X will continue

TrojanHorse wrote: Agree, whats with all the speculation? Itll be out when its out and until Mitsi announces something there isnt a lot of point. I dont know about anyone else, but Im happy for the CJ to be the most current model for as long as possible. Is everyone in a hurry to see their cars value take an even more major dive and then not be driving the latest shape either are they? Maybe Im the only one that cant afford to upgrade as soon as the new one comes out :/
its more the technology used, I don't wont to see the value of my decrease but I like to see what new technology mitsu will be coming out with, like how the are trying to develop a system where cars "talk" to each other to avoid congestion, such as "don't take such n such rd, as there is an accident" so then u can plan your route with a live feed, and how mitsu (I think its them) tht has a test car tht has driven 100 000+kms without a driver.
