So it's time for me to start modding again and my first order of business is getting an intake. I have been doing some research and to me it sounds like the Short Ram intake is the better way to go but I am sure there are people on here that have either so from personal experience which is better?
So really what is the big main differences between the 2?
FYI I have already read on a few posts about no gain from it etc not interested in that, all I want to know is which one I should get. ATM I am looking at the Injen Short Ram Intake.

Which is better, Short Ram intake or Cold Ram intake?

I would go cold air... but I wouldn't put a 90degree bend down to the floor..
In the end.. the roads are hotter than ambient air, so guess what you will be sucking in..
Put the pod filter as slose to the front of the car as possible...relocate battery to boot to make more room for it

I don't understand. So you want to start modding your car but you are not interested in performance.
So why do you want to change your intake then, looks?

From what I have researched some sri say they give good performance output but sri suck in hot air so it will damage engine, and cai generally preform better and are more flexible with positioning and suck in cold air (depending on location) of course, and due to the fact that cai suck in cooler air it's better for ur engine. However if ur going just for noise a lot of people get the injen sri, that's just what I found out through my research
Hope it was helpful, josh

Ok.
If you get the SRI or CAI, you wont feel the difference between them..
The SRI has a louder suction noise.
Like people say SRI , you suck hot air in.... Ive had and to be honest nothing changed except noice.. After on the SRi went back to the stock intake and i think it goes harder with the stock box haha
But again, i miss the grunt the SRI gives you!
The SRi is easier to install too.. If you have a good heat shield it should keep most of the hot air out.
IMO CAI is more for turbo cars i reckon. Cause in the engine bay it gets hot from the engine, manifold and turbo, so you use a CAI. Again thats IMO.

It's all good Erin, I expected someone to make a comment like that but doesn't bother me. All I meant was I have done enough of my own research and I know everyone has a different opinion and I didn't want to open a can of worm. I just wanted advice from people that has or had an intake before as I am not really looking for a boost in HP or anything I just like the noise it makes.
I was just wondering I am getting the SRI from Injen and they mentioned something about CA emission sensors which I am guessing is the part from the engine that gets plugged into the intake?? Does our cars have them? Also if I get the SRI Denis mentioned a heat shield?? Anyone know where I can get one? EBay?
