Talon Diffuser- BAD REVIEW

So I have basically decided to just write a review of my experience with Talon (body kits 'specialist'). It is not aiming to turn you all off buying from them, and yes, I do realise that some members may have bought items from them and have been able to fit them fine.

I bought a rear diffuser off of them a couple of weeks ago. Not long after receiving the diffuser, I received information from my painter that it had cracks all through it...the quality was very poor. When I emailed them explaining the situation, they told me there were NO cracks whatsoever and told me how it should be painted, as if my painter was totally incompetent. Even though they described the diffuser as being ready to be primed and painted, it actually needs to be high - filled more than once before continuing the process. They have described this diffuser as being in perfect condition. I called them, and they went on with how the cracks are just mould markings and you just need to sand them out, even though I told them I took it to several painters who all said the same thing. They make over 1000 copies from thr same mould. So I've gone ahead with getting it painted; surprise surprise, the cracks still showed up.
Now I have had to book my car in (whooptidoo, lets wait another bloody week) so that my car can spend 3 days with someone who will fix the diffuser, re paint it, then modify it to fit my car because it is sagging on one side....

I've had to get someone to call on my behalf because obviously they didn't take me seriously the first time I complained. They have finally agreed to either a full refund (the guy even said on the phone that he will just sand it back and sell it to someone else!!!) or to get it fixed. Whether this means I have to go to one of his contractors or I can go to my own, OR if he will be paying me for all the repairs (quoted approximately $400 which is more then what the bar is worth) I don't know- still waiting on a reply

ANYWAYS.....Dave (the guy I've been in contact with) has at least stayed polite and decent throughout the situation, whether or not the outcome is what I wanted. Seems like a decent guy who just wants his customers to be happy.

More updates to come....

* they have offered to prep and paint a new one and send it out to me, and as soon as it gets here, we have to send the other one back.
* apparently he is sick and in hospital. He won't be back until Friday....which means ill probably have to wait another week. I got the diffuser taken off yesterday because we were meant to be making a direct swap when the new one got here but I didn't realise I'd be waiting that long now I have two wonky exhausts and no diffuser. So so so embarrassing.
*he still isn't in. Lady at the desk said that she will put one in production on Monday if he isnt in hy then
* still cannot get a hold of him. He is back but keeps ignoring my calls on his mobile and wont call me back when I left my number with his work.
* im supposedly getting a call back in 10 mins
* after a falling out with Talon, i was told that I was getting it last week. Obviously it didn't come.
* gave him another call...got told that he doesn't want anything to do with it anymore and that he wont be sending another one up

i would be getting onto the ombudsman , let them know that , then u will get what u want , id be demanding a new one ..... the product is faulty - not from fault of your own therefore that product needs the be replaced ... you entered into a contract to purchase that item for a specific need, it dose not meet that need thefore its needs to be replaced of refunded

Mark is right. Australia has laws which companies have to comply to. If an item is not as discribed or damaged or faulty, the company must replace or refund. I would not have got it painted though, hope they dont turn around and blame the painter for the damage.

That really sucks to hear Annabelle! No one should really have to deal with this for anyone. Do they have an office you can go down to and complain in person?

Maybe its time for a cruise down to Nowra then for some CCJ support ;)

I'd be involving Fair Trading then and asking them how to persue the issue, if it were me i'd want my money back.
