ClubCJ - The CJ Lancer Club

Well after being here for ages, I've never seen anyone talk about poker. So I'm just starting this thread just to sorta see what kinda interest there is.

I'm gonna recount a couple of my bad beats, just for fun and coz im bored haha.

First one literally had me take two steps back from the computer and collapse in my bed haha
I got dealt pocket Jacks, and the flop came up 4J4.
Full book on the flop right? small bet, want people to follow. someone else goes all in. I call. He's got pocket 4s. ouch, he just flopped quads.

Second one was the other night. I was playing a WSOP qualifyer tourney - winner got a paid seat, value of $25,000, to the WSOP.
Second hand, I got dealt pocket Aces. Raised to half my stack, called by one person
Flop comes up J89, all diamonds. I have the Ace of Diamonds.
Guy who called me bets half his remaining stack. I raise all in, he calls.
He turns over QT, both diamonds. He's just flopped a straight flush, there is absolutely NO card that can save me.

Lastly - a bad beat I dealt out online.
Flop came up JTJ and i had AJ. I went all in, got called. other guy had TT.
So he has a full house, I have trips. The river came up as a Jack, giving me quads. Ouch much?

mate that second beat was just ass from the other player... i play a lil bit of poker but atm im in a bit of a slum keep getin beat by stupid 1/2 hands that stings me on the river....

Not to mention the other day someone slowplayed their flopped quads against me

i had 7/8 both clubs
flop had the 4 and 5 of clubs and another 4. he had pocket 4s (i didnt know that) and i clipped the 6 of clubs on the river. he was piiiissssed.

Its poker lingo Ozie, it means to bet the theoretical nuts (i.e., with quads, four of a kind, he couldnt be beat) with small bets trying to get people to call, so you get more money out of it.

and the 'nuts' is poker lingo meaning the best possible 5-card hand at the time.

Hmms, when i first searched for this thread I was hoping that a Club CJ poker Tourny could be organised, but atm doesn't look too good. If anyone in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Melton or Geelong areas are intersted in local poker, northern suburbs goto Q-Room thomastown friday nights 8 registration, 9pm start, its run by World Pro Poker, a relatively new poker group but know how to run a good tourny.
