Star Trek new movie

Postby Josh_Emerton » Fri May 08, 2009 11:43 pm

Well i took some time off this arvo to go see a movie with a mate.

When I got there, he'd bought star trek tickets. EEEK! I reluctantly agreed..

Having watched the movie - its brilliant. star-studded cast including John Cho, Winona Rider, Eric Bana and Simon Pegg lead a great movie thats both action and comedy. and damn good comedy sometimes, when you include simon pegg with a scottish accent and some random as a 17yo Russian with a funny-as-all-hell russian accent.

anyone else seen it? I'd highly recommend it - even if it is star trek, its a shitload better than the old series.

Did you collapse in silent giggles every time the Russian kid spoke as well?

Also - did yours have the trailer for Ice Age 3 playing before it? That almost had me on the floor laughing haha I was actually holding my stomach and bracing on the seat in front of me.

Just got home from seeing it!

I Enjoyed it very much!
Plenty of action , great special effects and a few laughs.
96% of 220 critics liked it , see here--

The trailers I had were for Terminator Salvation & the next Transformers movie, both of these looked good too for all the Sci Fi fans.

I didn't even think movies were on film anymore?!

But I did see the movie yesterday & thought it was great. I never really like the original series but loved the next 3 (TNG, DS9 & Voyager - I'm a trekkie :D ) I loved the new cast & the fact they didn't fill it with cameos of the old cast like they do in other movies from TV shows. I would really like this cast to do a new series. I thought they were a bunch of nobodys but found out that they have all done quite a few movies.

Apparently the place he went to they still do.

Run it between 2 cinemas so they can run session after session.

I would have thought they would simply be on disk too, apparently not.

Saw it on the weekend, and I thought it was one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time. I'm actually regretting not seeing it at Imax.
