help with mods for members in adelaide

Postby cj_sx_2011 » Wed Feb 06, 2013 5:28 pm

hello fellow people of adelaide,

i have been thinking to myself there isnt much with people doing mods or know how to do difficult mods in sa that i have seen or heard of lately, so i am here to put my hand up to help fellow new members and some older members, mainly to help people who want the satisfaction of doing mods on there own car and being right there to see, (stickers dont count)

i can help and have done,

helped shannon (shamoo) do her door card inserts from the standard black to blue leather or vinyl , found out need way better more expensive adhesive glue to with stand the heat of the sun in the car,

if you are considering lowering your car, consider the possibly of coilovers, because,

1. they do not make aftermarket lowed struts for our car, and once lowered springs are in you cant change the ride height or camber without going back to get a wheel alignment and change camber there and or springs, and once you lower 30-50mm you risk hurting the stock struts coz they are ment to preform at stock height level not lower, so the stroke of the shock has been minimized ie can hurt the life of the strut,

2. with saying that, coilovers u can change the height of the car whenever you want, and camber can be adjusted, stiffness of the shocks, everything, (more freezable in the end run)

so i can help with installing coilovers for the right price, can take upwards of 3-4 hrs with all the adjusting, if you go to the shop to get installed will cost around the 500 mark i think that is quite a rip off when someone here can help you for half that (and has it done), and what they dont tell you is that you need or is recommended to get a wheel alignment when everything settles in,

also if you do not plan on going to the track (most people with them wont at all and just for looks) i would recommend bc v1 they are 1050 delivered with damper extensions (we need them), if you decide to go to the track, then you can choose the bc br or hsd or other coilover brands,

i dont have aftermarket sway bars but it wouldnt be hard to undo only a couple of bolts take off and replace with new one, lol.

also, if you are interested in getting an exhaust done, i know of a couple of places that are excellent in what they do and great workmanship and prices, including the place where i got my exhaust done, i can possibly get you a way better price than if you was an average joe going in there off the street,

i also know a very good window tinter who done my car, great prices can get a discount if there is about 4 or 5 cars who want it done at the same time or booked in for over 1 or 2 days to do the cars, uses only the highest quality of tint and is usa film and non fade, not the crap that most companys get here in aus,

in need of a good mechanic i know of a couple,

wanting aftermarket rims, i know of a very good place that can get rota rims and speak highly of them there is a link under my name or quote bit of where to find them,

i hope this thread can help new comers or older members wanting to do stuff but dont have the confidence,

enjoy, and dont hesitate to inbox me if you need any help :)

now before anyone gets the idea of being a smartass and or having sligh comments, i will report you without any hesitations, this thread is to help people out, not to show how childish people can be.

Really?
I think if you volunteer to help people it should be out of the kindness of your heart. They haven't come to you and said 'Do this for me'
But hey, each to their own.

I'll use my dad and bf to help with any mods I want to do. Thanks

what was the point of both of you commenting, it achieved nothing. quite stupid, but i guess thats what ccj is about these days idiots commenting on stuff that doesnt concern them and where its not needed.

you know for someone who is meant to have a general interest in the club and its members you do a pretty good job at killing it off Erin.

i do believe that on the first cruise ive gone to the only time you said anything to me was when i said i knew how to do something... what was it that you said? um "wanna do it for me?"

id never go on another cruise mainly because you and shannon who seem to be the "responsible" members for SA to organised and encourage members to get involved are more interested in your own "little personal gains".

so i wouldnt be so fast to point the finger and blame if i was you. i dont have anything against your self or shannon, im just saying from what ive seen on here and what you acted like on the cruise your pretty shonky Regional organisers.

callum, let Ricky and Erin sort this out... there is no need for anyone else to get involved and stick there two cents worth in it will only make it worse

Let the Ricky and Erin problems stay between them ya? :/

Because to be honest, it's really them two having a problem and I don't see a reason why anyone else of us should jump in. It's best if no one else gets involved because none of us would like to get in trouble now, would we?

Meh, it should stay between the 2 and off the public forums. I've got along with both Ricky and Erin and have no interest in their debate.

But in all honesty, throwing a cheap shot at Shannon, that's just downright.... cheap.

I think if Ricky wants to help people that's great, he drove an hour to mine and spent hours helping me and teaching me stuff and saved me about $400.. He is a real nice guy and was good to work with. Even if money is involved you would still save money compared to getting a business to help you.. I'm sure Ricky has better stuff to do rather than helping out others, I don't understand why people are going about this in a negative way when its a positive.
