Next car idea's..?

Postby vermilioN » Mon Dec 24, 2012 7:40 pm

I haven't had my Ralliart that long but im thinking of what I want from my next car.. I want it to be more quarter mile focused.. id like to have a daily driven 11 or if possible 10 second car which is some what reliable.. and to get my car that fast I dont want to spend unfathomable amounts of money.. but I do understand it wont come free :P

I was thinking Evo 9, Evo 10 or Xr6t? I'd prefer a 4cyl jap car :)
Thoughts and opinions?

You'd have to heavily modify a 4-cylinder car to get the 11 or 10-second rocket you want. Even Evos have to get a lot of stuff done to achieve these results. FG XR6T should have a reliable drivetrain but I'm unsure of other stuff about it. Old Supras and Skylines have a lot going when it comes to drag stuff, but there's a very slim chance you can get hold of something that hasn't been heavily thrashed.

Easiest bet is to get an R35. A real pocket rocket would be the M135i.

Glenns Ralliart got into 11's, not saying he didnt spend a lot of money on it but its not like its impossible :p Ive heard you can get a 11 second xr6t with a full exhaust and a tune but im not sure if that's true!

On top of the already mentioned xr6/f6/g6e turbo, if you wanted to head down the v8 path a gt, clubby etc would get there without excessive mods. Jap wise has me thinking skyline, s15, sti wrx or, my personal favourites, FD RX-7s and Mitsu GTOs! Maybe not hugely reliable though :P

Id only ever go a turbo car :P Skylines are always stolen and are so common.. although I wouldnt mind a r34 gtr ;) but yeah s15's are nice :) and I wouldnt mind a wrx.. but I presume they are both in the same boat as the evo.. I just would love something jap that I could take to the strip then drive it home!

acquire s15, acquire a ls series engine
mate the two, profit?

but for your goal, and 4 cylinder turbo thats capable of doing 11 will also have the capability to eat its own drive train, be it s chassies or evos.

thats more money after you got the power side of things to upgrade the drive train.

Im thinking like 3 years down the road :P I like my car, does what it needs to do but I want to go faster, its not worth spending more money on the ralliart + im worried about the transmission in the future.
